The government mandated that new toilets use no more than 1.6 gallons per flush. When manufacturers first began putting units out on the markets with these standards, the toilets did not flush as effectively as the old models. If this is a problem, one solution may be to try a toilet that has a pressurized tank. These work similar to a commercial toilet but are kept to the regular government standards.
